'2024 Bernard Buffet', the second large-scale retrospective exhibition of Bernard Buffet in Korea, introduces a total of over 100 works, including large-scale oil paintings of 4 meters, as well as watercolors, drawings, and prints, categorized by subjects.
Bernard Buffet (1928-1999) had his first solo exhibition at the age of 19 and won France's most prestigious critic's prize at the age of 20. At 27, the magazine Connaissance des arts named him the best artist of the post-war period, and at 30, the New York Times named him one of France's five fabulous young people. From an early age, Buffet was recognized as a prodigy, acclaimed by critics and beloved by the public. Despite this early recognition of his artistry and popularity, Buffet stubbornly insisted that he was a painter, not an artist.
From the everyday objects and people that appeared early in his career, to the clowns that reflected his existential concerns, to the landscapes of the world's cities, to literature/mythology/religion that revealed Buffet's expanded worldview, to his beloved wife and lifelong muse, Annabel, to his final subject, death... he freely traversed a wide range of subjects, from personal and private to popular or intellectual. Through various mediums such as painting, drawing, and printmaking, Buffet created his own aesthetics, and this exhibition provides an opportunity to confirm the physical presence.

It is the first museum specializing in design in Korea registered in 1999.
Opened in 1999, the Hangaram Design Museum is the nation’s first museum specialized in design. About 1,282㎡(1 gallery 727㎡, 2 gallery 555㎡) in size, the main gallery on the first floor is a versatile space that can be transformed according to the exhibition taking place at the moment and, if needed, can be divided into two showrooms.

- The parking ticket payment machine is situated next to the Information Desk on the first level. There is a coin exchange machine nearby.
All performances, except for children-specific ones, are suitable for elementary school students and older. If proof of age cannot be provided, entry will not be permitted regardless of ticket possession or accompaniment by a guardian. (Excluding performances aimed at children.)
The maximum number of tickets allowed to be purchased per online order (pc, mobile) is 10. If you would like to purchase more than 10 tickets for a group, please call the Service Plaza (1668-1352)

- Tickets with Time Slots: Cancellation fees apply according to the same standards as for rental performances at the Seoul Arts Center
- General Exhibition Tickets: There is no cancellation fee until 7 days after ticket purchase, and a 10% cancellation fee is charged from the 8th day onwards.

Note for receiving a ticket
- Customers who have benefited from discounts (e.g. discount coupons and membership discounts, special discounts for the disabled, national merits, SAC Teens, noble members, students, seniors and last-minute tickets) must be able to present proof of eligibility when collecting discounted tickets. If a customer fails to present such certification, he or she must pay for the full ticket price to enter the venue.
- The Box Office is very crowded when an event is about to begin. We strongly recommend collecting your ticket at least 30 minutes before the performance starts.
