Pianist Hyekyung Lee
Pianist Hyekyung Lee was born in Wonju in 1959 and started learning the piano at the age of six.
After winning first prize at the University of Education Competition and the Ewha-Kyunghyang Shinmun Competition, she made her debut at the National Theater of Korea in 1970 with the Seoul Sinfonietta Orchestra. After graduating with honors from Seoul Arts High School in 1975, she entered the Essen Folkbang College of Music in Germany and was selected as a DAAD German government scholarship student. In 1979, she transferred to Munich University of Music and graduated with the highest grade, and during the top performer course, she recorded many performances and broadcasting stations. In 1983, he won the Bach Prize at the Vianna da Mota International Competition in Portugal.
In 1984, she served as a professor of piano at Chung-Ang University and began active performance. He has a wide repertoire ranging from Bach to contemporary music, and is highly regarded for his rich sound and deep and intelligent interpretation. He won the 'Musician of the Month Award' by the Korean Music Pen Club, the 'Musician of the Year Award' by Music Donga, the 'Korean Music Award' in the keyboard instrument category by the Korea Music Association, and the 'Seoul Music Award' by the Korea Music Critics Association. Awarded. He served as a jury member for the Louisiana International Competition in the U.S. and the Indonesia International Competition, an exchange professor at the University of Music in Saarbruecken, Germany, and vice president of the Korean Piano Society.
She has worked on 15 albums at Classical Records in Russia, and recorded music at the Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center in the United States, as well as in Germany, Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Ireland, England, Austria, Russia, Romania, Ukraine, and Algeria. played KBS Symphony Orchestra, Seoul, Suwon, Incheon, Gwangju, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan, Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra, Korean Symphony, Baroque Orchestra, Seoul Sinfonietta, Ireland Ulster Orchestra, Osaka New Philharmonic in Japan, Ufa National Symphony Orchestra in Russia, Oltania in Romania, Crayova Orchestra , Moldova Radio Symphony Orchestra, etc., and collaborated with conductors Baktan Jordania, Bernard Güler, Barry Wadsworth, Jan Pascal Tortlier, Sandro Suturello, flutist Patrick Galloway, Maxens Larieu, trumpeter Stephen Burns, violin. She performed chamber music with Dongseok Kang, the New Budapest String Quartet, the Colorado String Quartet, and the Cologne Trio.
