Founded in 2006, I MAESTRI is a professional performance ensemble composed of South Korea’s top male vocalists who completed advanced studies across Europe and the United States and performed as principal singers in leading opera houses. Renowned as the world's premier "Voice Orchestra" with around 100 regular members, the ensemble has held an annual subscription concert at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall for the past two decades, solidifying its position as an unrivaled artistic organization representing Korea's classical music scene.

Transcending the boundaries of traditional vocal music, I MAESTRI aims to be a sustainable, future-oriented comprehensive arts platform that organically collaborates with diverse genres such as orchestra, ballet, Korean traditional music, and theater. Beyond fostering mutual development by bridging seasoned vocalists and rising artists, the ensemble actively engages in academic research, creative commissions, education, and meaningful social outreach. By offering its members opportunities to hone world-class artistry and a global perspective, I MAESTRI continues to elevate the caliber of Korean vocal music.

As a leading force in global "K-Classic," I MAESTRI has successfully presented over 30 invitational concerts across 25 cities in 15 countries, including Japan, the United States, and Italy. The ensemble delivered a solo celebratory performance at the Republic of Korea Presidential Inauguration Ceremony, captivating audiences worldwide with "Arirang" and "Nessun dorma." Following an acclaimed invitational performance at the Zell am See Summer Festival in Austria in July 2023, the ensemble successfully staged the original opera Yi Sun-sin—celebrating the guardian of peace, Admiral Yi Sun-sin—to immense critical and popular acclaim.

Notably, I MAESTRI highlighted the monumental opening stage of the Tongyeong Great Battle of Hansan Festival and made history as the first Korean ensemble invited to deliver an overwhelming solo performance at the Harbin Opera House during the Harbin Summer Music Concert, reaffirming the global stature of Korean vocal arts.

[Conductor] Yang Jae-moo

Yang Jae-moo, Music Director of I MAESTRI, graduated from Seoul National University College of Music, earned his diploma from the Conservatorio Statale di Musica “F.A. Bonporti” di Trento in Italy, and completed the advanced artist diploma program at the Accademia Internazionale delle Arti (ARTS) in Rome.

He starred in the Korean premiere of an opera by Isang Yun and performed leading roles in dozens of operas including La Traviata, Tosca, The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, and Aida. He has also maintained an active performance career as a featured soloist in works such as Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, and Britten’s War Requiem. As a conductor, he has led the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Harbin Symphony Orchestra, Ewha Womans University Orchestra, Kups Orchestra, and the New Seoul Symphony Orchestra.

Expanding his musical scope internationally, Maestro Yang has earned widespread acclaim for his distinctive musical interpretations and majestic sound at world-renowned venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, the Musikverein in Vienna, and Dvořák Hall in Prague. In addition to prominent domestic media outlets such as KBS and SBS, he has appeared on international networks including Japan’s NHK, China’s CCTV, and Kazakhstan’s KTV to promote competitive Korean classical music. Widely engaged in music lectures and authorship, he has published numerous works including music textbooks, 210 Lyrical World Art Songs, History of Western Music, Italian Art Song Lyric Dictionary, Collection of 300 Italian Art Songs, and Sight-Singing and Ear Training. Currently serving as the Music Director of I MAESTRI, he is dedicated to presenting Korean musical artistry to the world. In recognition of his contributions, he has received prestigious honors including the Presidential Citation, the Prime Minister’s Commendation, the Minister of Education Award, the Korea Music Grand Prize, the Musician of the Year Award, and the Korea Music Award.

[Orchestra] Prime Philharmonic Orchestra
Founded in February 1997, the Prime Philharmonic Orchestra has recruited top conductors both domestically and internationally, building an ensemble of highly skilled and passionate musicians. It has earned wide recognition for its expertise not only in symphonic repertoire but also in theatrical music, including opera and ballet. Appointed as the orchestra-in-residence at the Gunpo Arts Hall in 2000, it has actively contributed to vitalizing regional culture. Having staged over 2,500 performances—including 127 subscription concerts—the orchestra is widely praised as an engaging ensemble capable of expressing a rich and diverse spectrum of musical colors.
