Flutist Hyun Im Yoon & Pianist Joo Yeun Shin the 10th Duo Recital
HYUN IM YOON × JOO YEUN SHIN
10th DUO RECITAL
Flutist Hyun Im Yoon and pianist Joo Yeun Shin return to the stage for their 10th duo recital, celebrating a decade of musical collaboration with a deepened artistic synergy and a richly varied repertoire. This performance spans a wide range from classical tradition to modern sensibility, and from folkloric flair to contemporary innovation—highlighting the vibrant and delicate ensemble that flute and piano together can create.
The program includes Topiary by Gary Schocker, a piece full of light humor and the refined architecture of a garden; Dinicu’s Hora Staccato, inspired by traditional Romanian dance; and Tulou’s Grand Solo No. 5, a Romantic-era showpiece for flute virtuosos. Each work gains fresh vitality through the seasoned technique, musical sensitivity, and long-standing partnership of Yoon and Shin.
Adding to the evening’s depth and color are guest appearances by flutist Christophe Nussbaumer and cellist Seulgi Park. The program features Brahms’s Hungarian Dances (arranged for flute, cello, and piano), Doppler’s exotic and brilliant Duettino on Hungarian Motifs, and the premiere of Waltz Along Life’s Path, a new work by composer Jiweon Kwon. This unique blend of classic and contemporary, tradition and experimentation, promises an exceptional musical journey.
This milestone recital by two artists who have shared a long journey together will offer audiences an evening filled with heartfelt music and a rich spectrum of emotions.
