Violist 강주이
비올리스트 강주이는 뉴잉글랜드 콘서바토리에서 장학생으로 학사와 석사 과정을 마친 뒤, 인디애나 음악대학에서 전액 장학금을 받으며 전문 연주자 과정을 수료했다. 뉴잉글랜드 콘서바토리 재학 중에는 세계적인 비올리스트 킴 카쉬카쉬안을 사사하며 솔리스트로서의 음악적 기량을 다졌고, 귀국 직후 음악저널이 주최한 신인음악상 대상을 수상하며 주목받기 시작했다. 이어 한국문화예술위원회의 후원으로 서울과 베를린에서 독주회를 개최하며 본격적인 활동을 시작했다.
이후 강주이는 금호문화재단의 ‘아름다운 목요일’ 시리즈와 일신홀 초청 연주 등 국내 주요 무대에 서는 한편, 미국, 유럽, 일본 등지에서도 활발한 연주 활동을 이어왔다. 특히 비올라가 바이올린이나 첼로에 비해 상대적으로 조명을 받기 어려운 악기임에도 불구하고, 그녀는 매 무대마다 탁월한 음악성과 뜨거운 열정으로 관객의 깊은 감동을 이끌어내며 음악 애호가들로부터 지속적인 주목과 찬사를 받아왔다.
국내에서는 대전시향, 충남시향, 제주시향, 청주시향, 연세 신포니에타 등 다수의 오케스트라와 협연하였으며, 두 차례에 걸친 교향악축제 무대, 그리고 NHK 방송을 통해 생중계된 도쿄 국제 비올라 콩쿠르 초청 연주 등 굵직한 무대에서도 깊은 인상을 남겼다. 그녀의 연주는 섬세하면서도 강렬한 표현력으로 비올라라는 악기의 가능성을 끊임없이 확장시켜왔다.
한편, 강주이는 해설이 있는 독주회를 지속적으로 개최하며 클래식 음악을 보다 쉽고 친근하게 전달하기 위해 힘쓰고 있으며, 바르샤바 현대음악제, 윤이상 음악제, 스페인 아르코 아트 페어, 북경 현대음악제, 베니스 비엔날레 등 국제 현대음악 무대에서도 활발히 활동하며 폭넓은 음악 세계를 펼치고 있다.
이와 함께, 비올라만으로 구성된 챔버 오케스트라 ‘앙상블 알토’의 음악감독으로서 독창적인 레퍼토리를 선보이는 한편, ‘루덴스 스트링 콰르텟’과 ‘코리아나 챔버 뮤직 소사이어티’의 단원으로도 활약하며 다양한 실내악 무대에서 중음역 특유의 깊이와 따뜻함을 지닌 비올라의 매력을 앙상블을 통해 자연스럽게 전한다.
현재 강주이는 충남대학교 예술대학 교수로 재직 중이며, 교육자로서도 뛰어난 역량을 인정받아 여러 차례 충남대 전체 상위 5% 우수 강의 교수로 선정되었다. 연주와 교육, 해설과 현대음악에 이르기까지 폭넓은 활동을 이어가며, 연주자와 교육자로서 소명과 사명감을 성실히 실천해 나가고 있다.

The 2 stories 354 seats Recital Hall is the perfect venue for recitals that demand crystal clear sounds to resonate. It finished undergoing renovation in 2005 and has since been widely loved for showcasing debut and farewell stages, charming chamber music ensembles as well as experimental music.

Note for receiving a ticket
