Re: Curtain Call
Layers of Light, Fields of Color
Phenomena in Layers
Re: Curtain Call continues Park So Hyoung’s inquiry into perceptual experience, shifting the focus from the phenomenon of light toward layered phenomena of light and color within space. Rather than reiterating a previous investigation, this exhibition proposes a reconfiguration of how perception unfolds through structure, material, and movement.
Suspended vertically throughout the gallery, sheer textile panels operate not simply as fabric but as spatial devices. Their translucency allows light to pass through, creating stratified zones of grey, blue, green, yellow, and red. These chromatic areas remain distinct, yet along their edges they permeate and overlap, revealing phenomena that emerge within layers rather than on a single surface.
Light is filtered, color is diffused, and space is articulated through intervals and geometric alignments. The layered arrangement destabilizes fixed boundaries and transforms the exhibition space into a generative environment. As viewers move through the installation, densities shift and relationships between colors continually recompose themselves.
Here, “Re:” signifies reopening and reconfiguration rather than repetition. Just as a curtain call marks both closure and renewed presence, Re: Curtain Call invites viewers into a spatial condition where perceptual phenomena—light, color, depth, and transition—manifest through layers.
The exhibition ultimately offers an immersive field in which materiality, chromatic structure, and spatial layering interact, positioning the viewer as an active participant in the unfolding experience.

Artist Biography
Park, So Hyoung is a professor in the Department of Craft, College of Arts, Chung-Ang University. As a craft artist and textile designer, she explores spatial sensibility through the materiality of textiles and the structural qualities of color. Through collaborations with industry partners and brand projects, she has expanded her sculptural language across diverse contexts. Her solo and group exhibitions, both domestically and internationally, investigate the relationships between light and color, layering and space, continuously extending the formal possibilities of material and chromatic expression.
First level of three-level building with three exhibition halls
