Each student is allowed to apply
for only one class. But if there is a class
with a vacancy, students will allowed to apply
for an additional class.
-Tuition fee : Refer to the
attachment
(5% off for the member of SAC, the platinum member of BC card Platium, and plural classes applicant 30% off for the man of merit)
-Others : If a class
has less than 60% of a quorum, it may be cancelled.
However, students may be enrolled
in another class, which has a vacancy, if they
want.

Guide
for the Calligraphy Academy 1. Purpose
This guide is made for the efficient management
and operation of the calligraphy course of Seoul
Arts Center (hereafter, referred to as "SAC").
2. Title : The course is titled "Calligraphy
Academy of Seoul Arts Center" (hereafter, referred
to as "Calligraphy Academy").
3. Courses This calligraphy academy consists
of 7 courses(Hangeul / Hanmun / Sagunja / Muninhwa / Jeongak / Modern Calligraphy / Chinese(Theory)). 4. Semesters and
period of education The course basically continues
from March through December each year and it
has two semesters. But, the period of education
can be adjusted , if necessary. 5. Number
of students Each class may include approximately
15~25 students, and the total number of students in
all of the courses combined will be approximately
980 students. However, if necessary, SAC may adjust
the number of classes and students.
6. Application for classes 1) Students will
apply for the class in December. However, the date
depends on the class.
2) No qualification is required for applicants.
But, if necessary, the academy may limit the number
of students in each class
according to the career and educational background
of applicants..
3) Each applicant is required to submit a provided
application form (Form 1 provided by
SAC).
4) If there is a vacancy, an additional application
is available within 1 month from the day of Opening
Class(within 2 weeks from the day of 2nd Semester Opening
Class). However, SAC may invite applicants on the
basis of semester if they found it necessary.
7. Selection Method The selection of students
is based on the order of application but some courses
require the evaluation of documents and works.
8. Registration and Refund
1) Each student is required to pay tuition fee for
one year as well as other applicable fees. 2)
Paid tuition fee is not refundable in any case,
unless the class is closed or it is overpaid. But,
if student has
a special permission from SAC, he or she may have
a leave of absence from school or may be refunded.
3) Even in case of an additional registration, all
amount of tuition fee should be paid. 9.
Holiday 1) Regular holidays are
as follows: -Summer
and winter holidays -Sundays
-National holidays
-The anniversary of the establishment of SAC
2) Summer and winter holidays will
be scheduled by SAC. 3) Holidays
are not included in the days of class. If a lecture
is not given for a regular day by SAC, an additional
lecture will be arranged.
10. Contents of Courses : SAC will arrange curriculum
for each course annually after consultation with
lecturers.
11. Days of class : Days of class will be about
41 weeks a year. 12. Evaluation Exhibition
Anyone having attended the class for more than 2/3
of the regular days of their class will be allowed
to present his or her works in the Evaluation Exhibition.
13. Temporary absence 1) If
a student is not able to attend his class because
of illness or other extenuating circumstance, he
may
request a leave of absence from SAC (Form 2 provided by
SAC). However,
2 weeks after the day of Opening Class,
the student cannot request a leave of absence for
that semester.
2) The period of temporary absence
for the semester is relevant to the year.
14. Return to the class 1)After
the period of temporary leave of absence is over,
the relevant student should return to the class
with
SAC's approval.
2) Student should return
to the same class that he or she left.
3) Student will be accounted
as a supernumerary student in the class.
15. Change of class Student is not allowed to
change his class. If he cannot attend the class
with an irresistible reason and if there is a vacancy
in another class, he may change his class only for
one time within 2 weeks from the day of opening
class with the approval from SAC and his lecturer.
Anyone who has leave of absence should return to
his original class.
16. Entrusting and Discharging of a Lecturer
1) A lecturer will be entrusted by
SAC. 2) Service term of a lecturer
is one year, and it can be prolonged by SAC.
3) SAC may discharge a lecturer who
doesn't behave with dignity. 17. Observance
: Students are required to observe this guide and
the related regulations of SAC as well.
