<나는 광대다_베르나르 뷔페 展:천재의 캔버스>는 20세기 프랑스의 마지막 구상회화 작가인 베르나르 뷔페의 국내 최초 대규모 단독 회고전이다. 이번 전시는 파리 시립 근대미술관, 에르미타주 박물관과 푸쉬킨 박물관등 세계 유수의 미술관의 회고전에서 선보였던 작품들을 비롯하여 국내에서는 보기 힘든 4-5미터에 이르는 대형 작품을 포함한 총 92점의 유화작품들과 한 편의 영화 같은 그의 삶을 소개하는 영상 및 사진들로 구성되어 있다.
살아 전 한 인터뷰에서 어떻게 기억되고 싶은지에 대한 질문에 베르나르 뷔페는
“모르겠어요… 아마도 광대일 것 같아요”라고 말했다. 이는 자신이 그렸던 광대나 서커스의 테마에서 보여주고자 했던 인간이 본질적으로 가지고 있는 내면과 외면의 이중성에 대한 함축적이고 은유적인 표현일 것이다. 뷔페는 50년이라는 기나긴 시간 동안 작품활동을 하며 본인이 마주하는 일상 속의 사물이나 사람 그리고 본인의 초상을 캔버스에 담았다.
이번 전시에서는 베르나르 뷔페의 시대별 주요 작품을 소개한다. 전시 초반에는 유명해지기 시작한 1940년대 후반, 절정의 인기를 누렸던 1950년대의 대표적인 정물화와 인물초상화 그리고 평생의 뮤즈이자 아내였던 아나벨과 서커스 테마가 등장하는 1960년대의 대표작들을 보여준다. 전시 중반은 거친 직선으로 표현한 잔혹한 아름다움을 가진 건축 풍경화와 강렬한 색상이 특징인 인물화 그리고 오디세이와 같은 문학작품을 소재로 한 대작들을 보여준다.. 마지막 부분은 1990년대의 작품들로 구성되어지며 뷔페가 죽기 전까지 작업하였던 화려한 색상의 광대 시리즈와 죽음을 주제로 한 작품들을 만나볼 수 있다.

All performances, except for children-specific ones, are suitable for ages 8 and above. Preschoolers are not permitted although being accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Lost tickets are non-refundable or non-exchangeable as tickets are value instrument papers

How to receive a ticket

- It operates one and a half hours prior to the start of a performance through its intermission

- Without a break, it operates until 40 minutes after the start of the performance

Ticket Delivery

- Mail delivery request: available only for a ticket booked no later than 2 weeks (14 days) before event day

Note for receiving a ticket

- Customers who have benefited from discounts (e.g. discount coupons and membership discounts, special discounts for the disabled, national merits, SAC Teens, noble members, students, seniors and last-minute tickets) must be able to present proof of eligibility when collecting discounted tickets. If a customer fails to present such certification, he or she must pay for the full ticket price to enter the venue.

- The Box Office is very crowded when an event is about to begin. We strongly recommend collecting your ticket at least 30 minutes before the performance starts.

※ Partial Cancellation
