2016년 20만 관람객을 불러 모으며 예술의전당 최다관객상을 수상하였던 앤서니 브라운展이 완전히 새롭게 바뀌어 돌아온다. 올해 6월 예술의전당 한가람 디자인미술관에서 열릴 ‘앤서니 브라운의 행복극 장’ 은 국내 미발간 작품과 신작을 포함 150여점의 원화와 다양한 체험기회들로 채워질 예정이다.
앤서니 브라운은 ‘한스 크리스안 안데르센 상’을 수상한 이 시대 대표적 그림책 작가다. 그의 기발한 상상력과 초현실주의적 표현으로 가득 찬 그림책 속에는 가족애, 우정, 예술, 자유, 행복 등 인간적 가치에 관한 따뜻한 시선과 진지한 질문이 숨어있다. 그의 책들은 오늘날 전세계 수많은 어린이들의 사랑을 한껏 받고 있다. 그 특유의 위트와 풍자는 어른들에게도 웃음과 사색을 선사한다.
이번 전시는 앤서니 브라운의 일러스트 원화뿐만 아니라 국내 작가와 협업 한 설치미술, 오브제, 영상, 미디어아트 등 다양한 현대미술을 선보인다. ‘행복극장’이라는 독특한 타이틀 아래 7개의 테마별 상영관, 극장, 미술관, 도서관, 체험관 등이 다채롭게 구성된다.
특히 올해 신작 ‘Little Frida’가 원화와 함께 작은 뮤지컬 공연으로 선보여질 예정 이여서 눈길을 끈다.        
‘마술연필을 가진 꼬마 곰(1988)’과 함께 하는 3D 미디어아트, ‘우리는 친구(2008)’를 모티브로 한 설치미술과 ‘앤서니 브라운의 킹콩(1994)’을 재해석한 영상은 국내 작가들과 앤서니 브라운의 협업으로 준비된다.
앤서니 브라운 초기 아이디어 북, 국내에 출간되지 않은 예술성 강한 그림책들의 원화들을 쉽게 접하기 어려운 작품들이다. 앤서니 브라운의 재치 있는 명화 패러디 작품을 재해석한 영상과 함께 전시될 예정이다. 그 외 앤서니 브라운의 모든 그림책들을 읽을 수 있는 도서관, 시각적 상상력과 창의적 표현 력을 키우는 체험관, 직접 그리고 즐길 수 있는 앤서니 브라운의 ‘리틀 프리다 아틀리에’로 조성된다.
앤서니 브라운은 그림과 글 사이사이 각자의 생각으로 채울 수 있는 여백을 남겨 놓는다. 그의 작품들은 관람객들을 저마다 스토리텔러로 초대한다. 이번 전시를 통하여 관람객들은 자녀가 부모에게, 부모가 자녀에게, 연인끼리, 친구끼리 또한 자기 자신에게 많은 이야기를 건넬 수 있는 시간을 가질 것으로 기대된다. 어이들에게는 창의적인 생각의 씨앗이 될 것이고, 어른들에게는 휴식과 재미가 될 것이다.

All performances, except for children-specific ones, are suitable for ages 8 and above. Preschoolers are not permitted although being accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The maximum number of tickets allowed to be purchased per online order (e.g., web, mobile) is 10. If you would like to purchase more than 10 tickets for a group, please call the Service Plaza (02-580-1300)

Lost tickets are non-refundable or non-exchangeable as tickets are value instrument papers

How to receive a ticket

- It operates one and a half hours prior to the start of a performance through its intermission

- Without a break, it operates until 40 minutes after the start of the performance

Note for receiving a ticket

- Customers who have benefited from discounts (e.g. discount coupons and membership discounts, special discounts for the disabled, national merits, SAC Teens, noble members, students, seniors and last-minute tickets) must be able to present proof of eligibility when collecting discounted tickets. If a customer fails to present such certification, he or she must pay for the full ticket price to enter the venue.

- The Box Office is very crowded when an event is about to begin. We strongly recommend collecting your ticket at least 30 minutes before the performance starts.

If a customer received booked tickets through visiting Service Plaza or mail delivery

※ Partial Cancellation
